Adult Formation
One of our core commitments at St. Paul’s is to be a community of Christians growing in our faith. We’ve got a number of opportunities for all ages to do just that.
As a base for our Adult Formation programs, St Paul’s typically builds sermons into series appropriate for the time of year and geared toward specific goals for everyone in attendance. Other opportunities for adults include:
First Sundays
First Sundays is a special monthly moment when we gather for an adult Sunday school lesson. In 2017, we are focusing around the theme “Theological Words Every Christian Should Know.” First Sundays occurs after the Sunday service from 10:20 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. and includes a great breakfast.
Journey in Faith
What is the purpose of life? What happens when we die? Why did Jesus die? What relevance does the Bible have for today? What’s an Episcopalian? Why do we say “catholic” each Sunday? Journey in Faith, offered each fall, is for anyone older than 12 who is
New to St. Paul’s or looking to formally become a member; or
Wanting to be confirmed or received in the Episcopal Church and Anglican Communion (or you don’t know what confirmation or reception is); or
Looking to get questions answered; or
Looking to go deeper or wanting to jump start their spiritual life.
More info on Journey in Faith comes out each August.
Thursday Morning Study Group
Each Thursday at 9:45 a.m. in the parish hall a group meets for 45 minutes to engage our minds in study that we might learn more about God, enliven our hearts, and test our lives. In the past the group has focused on everything from Scripture to Church history to Christian fiction. While the reading is always fruitful, the group is organized so that if you are not able to do the reading that week you can still come and participate.
