Community Dinner July 19

The community has come to know St. Paul's as the Community Dinner Church. They always come together to support the church's meals. It is one of the things that the public has come to expect time and time again. They seek out the sign when it time for the dinner. Such a nice public invitation. During har times it was an invitation for a hot to-go meal.

The members of the church became excited to have in-person meals start up again in May. During this meal, the community that we have come to know over the year spoke up and we listened. We found out that in hard times few of the other familiar places were providing a hot meal any more. St. Paul’s stepped up and doubled the number of meals for the rest of the year. A new meal was added on the first Tuesday of the month and the current dinner moving to the third Tuesday.

Last night, the mains dish was a simple meatball sub sandwich, that was very filling . The side dishes included: scalloped potatoes, bean salad, baked beans, green beans, tossed green salad, fruit salad, cookies and a variety of pies among other items. As a church, are always blessed as we continue to have an plenty of volunteers. The church has never seen any one ever leave empty handed.

No matter the meal we remember this prayer:

God is Great God is Good
Let us thank him for our food
By His hands we are fed
We thank You for our daily bread.
Amen.
