Pet Blessing - 10/5 from 10am - Noon

In the tradition of St. Francis of Assisi, whose feast day is celebrated annually on October 4th, Mother Michelle will be offering pet blessings in the church parking lot. Stop by anytime between 10 a.m. - Noon for a pet blessing, an animal treat, and even a human treat. Our pets are such an important part of our lives. This is an excellent time to offer prayer for them as well.

FREE Community Dinner - October 1, 2024

Join us on Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at 6 p.m. for a delicious free meal of mostaccioli with all of the sides. We are thankful to the LaPorte Service League for providing this meal. Doors open at 5:30 for drinks and popcorn and close at 7 p.m.

First Friday Concert - 10/4/2024

Billy and Renee Foster will be performing at the First Friday Concert Oct. 4, 2024, at 12:10 p.m. at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 1000 Michigan Ave., La Porte.

Billy Foster is a respected pianist, composer, educator and producer. He retired after 35 years as a public school music teacher in Gary, was a jazz piano instructor at Valparaiso University from 1980 to 2014 and teaches piano at Indiana University Northwest in Gary.

He has written and produced recordings for CDs and several television commercials and served on the Indiana Arts Commission Advisory Panel for three years. He is currently host of the popular radio show, "Billy Foster Jazz Zone" on WGVE 88.7 FM in Gary. Renee Foster is the vocalist.

The concerts last 30 minutes, people are encouraged to bring their lunch. There is no charge but there is a free-will offering box. The church is air-conditioned and handicap accessible through the door on Harrison Street.

FREE First Friday Concert - 9/6/2024

The 2024-25 First Friday Concert series will begin Friday, Sept. 6, at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 1000 Michigan Ave., La Porte.

The concerts are from 12:10 to 12:40 p.m. the first Fridays of the month through May, 2025. St. Paul's revived the series that previously was held in the chapel of La Porte Hospital.

The first musician will be Lee Knitter, a musician for 30 years. He focuses on bringing the Gospel to the community through music, singing and playing acoustic guitar. He primarily sings Gospel music at assisted living, nursing homes and rehab facilities and also performs Country and Folk music. He was on the worship team at La Porte Missionary Church for 16 years and is now retired after spending 43 years at Burns Harbor steel mill.

There is no charge for the concerts, but a free-will offering box is available. The audience is encouraged to bring their lunch. The property is air-conditioned and accessible to the physically challenged through the door on Harrison Street.

Join us on Tuesday, August 6th at 6 p.m. for a delicious free meal of grilled pork chops, Lynn’s famous mac ‘n cheese, salads, desserts, and more. Doors open at 5:30 for drinks and popcorn and close at 7 p.m.
